Marilyn S. (Thompson) Wilt

Marilyn S. Wilt, 80, of Ottumwa, died at 6:36 p.m. March 22, 2023 at her residence.
She was born April 23, 1942 in Ottumwa to Robert L. and Edna Robinson Thompson. Marilyn married George Eugene Wilt on March 31, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1993.
Growing up in Ottumwa, Marilyn attended the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, graduating in 1961. She worked for 25 years at Holiday Inn and she was a wonderful wife and mother.
Marilyn attended Hickory Gove Community Church. She was a member of the Ottumwa Silent Club. Marilyn enjoyed bowling and was also a member of the 700 Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha (Doug) McAntire of Ottumwa and Carol Wilt (Jon Johnson) of Rockton, IL; a son, Tom (Victoria) Wilt of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Sickels of Eldon; and her best pal from Iowa School for the Deaf, Jean Luedtke.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wilt; a sister, Patty Hancock, an infant brother and an infant sister.
Her body has been cremated. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 26th at Reece Funeral Home.
Graveside services and inurnment will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 31st, her wedding anniversary, at Shaul Cemetery with her son-in-law, Doug McAntire officiating.
