Lois Ann (Logan) Pauls

July 25, 1935—January 6. 2020

Lois Ann Pauls (Logan), age 84, died Monday, January 6th, 2020 in Gresham, Oregon.  Lois was born July 21st, 19)5 in Burlington, Iowa. She was the only child of Philip Logan and Marcella Koch.

In her youth, Lois attended the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She left school after her freshman year in high school and moved out west.  First to Denver, then to southern California, and eventually making her home in Corbett, Oregon.

She first married at age 16, and she proceeded to raise 7 children over the next 40 years of her life.

Lois played an active role in the deaf community.  She was a good friend to many.  She spent her career working in the telecommunications and aerospace industries. She had a keen interesting in reading, gardening, and family history research.  It was from the seeds other research that she was able to connect with her younger half-brother, JT Carvell, whom she had thought had passed.  They were able to reconnect in the summer of 2019.

The highlight of her life was when Lois married the love of her life, William Pauls, in the Portland, Oregon LDS temple on August 9th, 1994.  This last summer they celebrated 25 years of marriage.  She prepares for him now.

Lois is survived by her husband of 25 years, William Peter Pauls.  She is also survived by her little brother, JT Carvell.

Lois is also survived by 8 children: Linda Oslund (Tom); Lorna Mowaad; Kenneth Hite, Jr.; Loretta Hite (who precedes her in death); Loni Huntington (Ed); Maylene Feck; Lamar Stilwell (Tabatha); and Jared Stilwell (Yovana).  She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was arranged by Family Memorial Mortuary, Gresham, Oregon.
