Dennis Lee Day

November 9, 1942—January 5, 2018

Age 75, of Trevor, formerly of Union Grove, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, January 5, 2018. Dennis was born November 9, 1942 to Rolland and Lorraine (nee Ball) Day in Blair, Nebraska. His early life was spent in Nebraska.  He attended Nebraska School for the Deaf from September 14, 1949 to April 1958 before their parents moved to Wisconsin.  He attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, Delavan.

On July 22, 1967 he was united in marriage to Karen Lee Wiesner in King Luther, South Milwaukee. Following their marriage, they resided in Racine.

Karen passed away May 11, 1978. 

He lived most of his life in Union Grove until moving to Trevor the past two years. Dennis worked as a Lathe Operator for Harris Metals. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his free time fishing, hunting and riding his ATV up north. More than anything Dennis enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Dennis is survived by his children: Diane Stieg of Trevor, Peter (Kelli) Day of Sturtevant, Joseph (Irene) Day of North Cape, Tim Day of Racine and Mary Day of Indiana, grandchildren: Trevor (Danielle), Corin, Sydney, Stephanie, Kayla, Austin, Lillian, Autumn, Niko, Brittany, Tony, Destiny and Shawna, great-grandchildren: Brayden, Braylynn, Cameron and Davina. He is further survived by his siblings: Duane (Lynne) Day, Gary (Julie) Day, and Richard (Cindy) Day, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, infant son Paul and 2 great-grandsons Clayton and Bently. 

Funeral Services for Dennis took place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3:00PM at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home.  Burial was held on Monday, January 15th at 1:00PM at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek.
