Cletus Raymond Calta
April 14, 1929—January 19, 2017

Cletus Raymond Calta, 87, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at a hospice/home in Seffner, Florida following a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Gloria (Livezey) and many friends.  Two sons predeceased him.

Born and raised in Iowa.  He attended Iowa School for the Deaf until 1948.  He was one of basketball playing stars per his widow.

In his early years, Mr. Calta ran a business for 40 years as Calta’s Jeep Parts in Swisher, Iowa.  He bought many jeep surpluses from military.  He also used to work for Linger’s Tire Shop and Shallow Globe Corp. at Iowa City, Iowa.  According to one of his friends, he was a handyman in different sorts.

Mr. Calta had a passion for jeeps.  Many jeep users knew that he had rare parts for their jeeps.

They moved to Seffner, Florida five years ago.

His body was flown into Oxford, Iowa for a burial.  There will be a memorial service for him this summer.
